The focus of my research is the impact of human development activities on coastal and marine environmental systems in Southeast Asia. I have an active research program based at Burapha University in eastern Thailand that is currently investigating the environmental impacts of marine shrimp aquaculture and rural shellfish farming. I am also interested in cumulative environmental effects and the implications of development on coastal resources such as reefs, fisheries, beaches and islands in Southeast Asia.
